Enjoyable stay in great period...

Liked: Handsome room in an atmospheric property with a lot of history and character. Manager very happy to chat and share his knowledge of the area, and love of music! Good value, tasty breakfast.
Disliked: My room was onto the street, which was a little noisy from traffic but not really that bad

Excellent Hotel - Highly Recommend

Liked: Everything. Relaxed welcome. Good sized room with very comfortable bed. Clean, large bathroom with all facilities you could need. Nice bar.
Disliked: No shower facility.

Liked: Booked last minute as we were attending a wedding reception close by & was not disappointed! Lovely building in a great location & very comfortable room. Hosts were lovely & very helpful, we even had a coffee with them before we left the next morning. Could not fault

Highly recommend, beautiful and full...

Liked: The bath! Big fan, it was huge. As was the very comfy bed. The bar area was great; lovely decor, stunning stained glass windows, drinks selection and full of character. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: We went on a Monday and quite a few of the good restaurants close by are closed on a Monday, for example the 3 italian restaurants that I had my heart set on. But there are plenty of other places we could eat, and I think we could have eaten at the hotel if I had arrived earlier. However it was my fault and absolutely no fault at the Silk House.

Disliked: Locked up by 9 and was locked up in the morning to although advertised as having a bar and restaurant it was closed by then. Didn't seem to be manned overnight so little more than an air bnb really . If you only want a room then great .If you like a hotel bar then choose elsewhere .
