Liked: The bed was big, lovely and comfortable
Disliked: The place was outdated including the room, i couldn't watch anything on the TV because the signal was so bad I could only get one channel the whole time. We couldn't have a bath because after 2 minutes of the water running the water was cold. The same with the shower. And the shower head was nasty. The bath had a whole in the side of it that had been covered with silicone. Couldn't put underwear in draws they was too dirty. I paid for a full breakfast and when we come down to eat it all there was were some ham and croissants, I asked the staff where the breakfast was and she said that's it its called continental she said that's what it said when I booked it but I checked and not once did it say that, i paid extra for a full breakfast for 2 and never received it. so I checked out early and found a cafe. Bad experience staying there rearly but on the plus side the bed was big lovely and comfortable, but that's the only thing that was decent there.

Liked: Very hard to think of anything positive to say about the Hotel, Gym or Spa!
Disliked: Completely run down hotel offering a Spa & Gym. Hotel should have been condemned some considerable time ago. Hotel certainly didn’t match any of the photos online prior to us making our booking. The hotel is clearly in need of money being spent on the hotel to bring it up to an acceptable standard..Worn away wooden step on entrance to hotel, not at all welcoming. Dirty Linen littered along the corridor on arrival @ 5pm. Room: filthy, fire regulations on back of the door totally illegible, torn duvet cover, very uncomfortable bed, broken picture frame, dust & cigarette butt poked down radiator, dirty carpet, very sticky floor in bathroom, dirty shower & rusty pedal bin.Restaurant: tables sticky and dirty. Drinking glasses on table very dirty, to the extent an insect had laid eggs in the bottom of upturned glasses, hadn’t been washed for ages. We had booked half board but only one menu, no choice as advertised. Very strange food combinations. Appeared to be the same tray of ham & cheese brought out every breakfast. Porridge oats with cold milk! No microwave or other facility to heat up. Staff rarely visible.Appeared to be only husband & wife team, running reception, cleaning rooms, cooking and serving in the restaurant & bar, not that we ever saw the bar open during our long weekend at the hotel. The couple also ran the Gym & Spa.The Gym & Spa areas were completely run down. Rusty, filthy and grimy. Fungus on soap dispenser & shower controls. Various holes in the ceiling. Rusty fire exit door with hole in the bottom, doubt it actually opened. No other means of escape. No emergency system in place. Spa, Steam Room & Sauna not working at all, one of the main reasons we booked The Shurland Hotel for a relaxing weekend to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Our stay was far from relaxing, more of a nightmare weekend. Definitely, the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.If it was possible to give the hotel a Zero rating we would!

Disliked: Being woken up by people talking by the exit door 2/3 times in the night which was very frustrating had to go out and tell them to be quiet at 2am So didn't get the best nights sleep .

A wonderful stay with exceptional...

Liked: Five stars for the Eastchurch gem! From the moment we arrived, our experience at this Eastchurch hotel was exceptional. The receptionist was incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us to check in early and even giving us a tour of the facilities. This immediately set a welcoming and positive tone for our stay. We opted for half board, and the food was a real highlight. Dinner was amazing! The carbonara pasta and BBQ chicken breast were both delicious – cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The continental breakfast was also great, offering a good selection of fresh items to start the day. Beyond the excellent service and food, we also took advantage of the gym and sauna facilities, which were well-maintained and added a lovely touch to our stay. Overall, this hotel is a truly fantastic find. The friendly staff, delicious food, and great amenities make it a highly recommended place to stay. We will definitely be returning!
