Liked: Great place to be in La Jolla. Nice pool, coffee during the whole day, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Beach & sea, Bars, super markets, bakery and Restaurants are just a view steps from the property.

Disliked: 4th visit and can’t think of an instance where my expectations were not met or exceeded.

Very nice place to stay...

Liked: 5 minute walk to the beach was great. Room was clean but only "maid" up every other day. EVERYONE at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. All of the staff there was wonderful. Hot water was always available with no wait.

We will definitely be back!...

Liked: The Shoal is located perfectly in between so many restaurants, bars and not to mention just about a block from the beach. We will definitely be back! This is amazing place to stay with children. We also loved that the pool was handicap accessible.

Fantastic hidden get away.

Liked: It seemed up to date. The pool and spa were nice to relax in. Very close walk to the beach which we enjoyed. They allow you to rent beach chairs at no extra cost which was fabulous! All of the staff was delightful. We want to come back.
Disliked: There were really no issues, I didn’t love the $15 parking fee per day until I realized that there was paid parking almost everywhere you go. $15 a day is quite cheap in comparison.
