The Shoal Hotel La Jolla Beach

Pleasant

Liked: Friendly staff nice location nice pool. Access to towels and items for the beach was nice. Rooms are spacious.
Disliked: Pillows and sheets need updated. Parking is extremely tight and limited space. There was a bad smell from the plumbing from the bathroom sink and too much disinfectant sprayed in the room.

Liked: The room was nicely decorated with ac, lots of shampoo conditioner and body wash, easy to get to, overall pretty clean
Disliked: Walls are paper thin, could hear all neighbors all the time. The water pressure was basically non existent and took forever to was our baby bottles and hair in the shower

Disliked: Deluxe room wasn’t very deluxe. Approved for an early check in that didn’t happen (on my wedding day), so that was disappointing but we weren’t charged so that’s nice. The hot tub could use a good clean. Water is very green

Park your car and go...

Liked: Being from Arizona, any time you can get to San Diego in the summer is a relief. I wouldn't stay anywhere but The Shoal. Location, value, friendly staff & cleanliness always exceed expectations.
Disliked: My only complaint was that my visit was too short.

Liked: I liked the closeness to the beach
Disliked: The one black girl working the front desk gave me an attitude for no reason. And the parking lot was kinda small

Liked: Great location. Reasonably priced for the location. This is my second time staying here and the rooms were very clean both times. Furniture and beds are comfortable.
Disliked: Paying extra for parking
