Comfortable and welcoming

Liked: Comfortable and welcoming. The room was well furnished with a tea & coffee tray with biscuits. There is a fridge too.
Disliked: There was temporary scaffolding covering the frontage but it was due to be removed.

4 Star hotel might be...

Liked: Good location and a lovely breakfast which was included. Room was good and the pool was ok - bit small (Only fits 6). Food in the in house fusion restaurant was amazing and not bad value. The pub was standard pub food but the fish and chips was huge.
Disliked: The hotel doesn't respond to requests through booking.com. We were told nothing about the hotel on arrival and were left to wonder while the group after us where guided at every step. Staff weren't always the best. The rooms were comfy but the bathrooms left me wanting more. The toilets often blocked and one day we saw someone's else's bodily items floating back up. There was also a major leak in the breakfast room.

A group expedition to strew...

Liked: We were upgraded to a suite because the completion of work on our booked room had been delayed. We have never experienced such luxury! The staff were wonderful, the on-site Pan fusion restaurant was excellent, and the hotel was stunning. It was right on the esplanade with a short walk to the city centre.
Disliked: The weather was atrocious on a couple of days but that's hardly the hotel's fault.
