The Sebel Sydney Manly Beach

Okay but not overwhelming

Liked: Location was good and it was quiet.
Disliked: It was not clear from the booking that there was no housekeeping. 4 nights without fresh glasses, towels or a restock of tea etc was a bit much.There was also a bloodstain on the inside of my pillow.

Liked: Location was good. Room was nice. Bed was too high for my short legs.
Disliked: Nothing except daily checks if toilet papers other little thing were needed. I had to asked the staff for another one.

Liked: Great location and we had a seafront room with a lovely view of the beach.
Disliked: Unfortunately the bed was quite soft and bouncy. I think a better quality mattress would have made the stay perfect.

Liked: Staff were so helpful and friendly.The accommodation was amazing. Brand new refurbishment of our room. I could smell the paint. Great stay.I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Disliked: Our room had a few spots on the ceiling that were leaking. Made worse by the air con. Forgot to report on check out although I’m sure it’s been an ongoing issue in that room

Excellent location 1 block from...

Liked: Our stay at the Sebel was a last minute booking (just before NYE -- a busy holiday time), so I was pleased to find a nice place so close to the beach. It was one block off Manly beach--and the best part of Manly beach, the southern part by the life guard HQ and paved walking path to Shelly Beach. So perfect location for a walk on the pathway to Shelly, or a bush walk up to North Head. It was also only 2-3 blocks from the main pedestrian "Corso" with shops, restaurants, and bars. We came by ferry from Sydney's Circular Quay (which provided awesome views) and only had a 10 minute walk from Manly Wharf to the Sebel. Everything about the room was fine, nice bed and other furnishings, a balcony with table and chairs. The Sebel gave us a list of restaurants providing 10% discounts for Sebel guests, and we used those.
Disliked: These are minor complaints. At first, the check-in (at the separate Pepper Hotel) was sort of weird, but the woman who checked us in took us directly to the Sebel and our room herself, so no problem. Also, it seemed expensive, so I rated it average in terms of value-for-money. But maybe that was just a consequence of its excellent location and busy holiday period.
