Don't expect much

Liked: Was only hour walk
Disliked: Was so out dated bathroom had long black hairs every were shower didn't work properly hot then cold walls were all scraped and marked .food at restraint wasnt up to much either we weren't offered any drinks to table u had to go get your own wqter

Great experience over all you

Liked: I like the rppm sizes I was in a single room this visit and the cleaning is 10 out of 10 plus most staff members are great the food is definitely good and bar prices reasonable
Disliked: Only one thing on this occasion my key card kept failing to work on the Monday morning after breakfast I had plans so quickly down the stairs again to change card . Back up stairs and it still failed. This happened 3 times and I just felt I wasn't getting the help on resolving this from reception. I was late and sweating with my many stairs experience

Liked: The atmosphere and staff are very pleasant, more helpful any other place. I have ever stayed I would recommend the Savoy for a warm friendly stay

Very rude, inconsiderate, unhelpful recetion...

Liked: Reception staff very rude and unhelpful
Disliked: Arrived at hotel at 2245hrs only to be told that they had cancelled our booking which was made on a Thursday which they sent a confirmation email. They said they had called my phone at 8pm and left a message telling me they over booked so were cancelling my booking. I checked my phone for call history which i showed them and their number wasnt in my phone history. Asked them why they did not send an email as well but they were not interested.They said they could not help and told my husband and i to book again on booking.com. we found them very rude and unhelpful considering we had driven all the way from Birmingham and my husband being diabetic.

THE STAFF WERE CONSIDERATE AND...

Disliked: BOOKING EARLY COST ME DOUBLE THE AMOUNT THE HOTEL WAS CHARGING ON THE DFAY OF OUR ARRIVAL PAID 75gpb PER NIGHT AS THE HOTEL QUESTS CONFIRMED AS DID THE HOTEL WEBSITE THAT RATE WAS 45GBP PER NIGHT. I WAS VERY ANGRY AT BOOKING.COM FOR THIS EXTRA CHARGE OF 30GBP PER NIGHT AND THAT 2X CONSIDERING WE STAY 2 NIGHT I THINK YOU SHOULD AT LEAST REFUND PART OF THESE COSTS OR PASS OUR COMPLAINT ONTO BRITANNIA FOR A REFUND.

A good visit

Liked: The room was well appointed. Everything we needed was there. The bathroom had recently been redecorated. The food was excellent. We both had an evening dinner which was really tasty. Drinks were excellent in the bar.
Disliked: Only problem is the hotel needs to move about half a mile nearer to the town centre. Us older folk aren't as fit as we used to be. Good news there are no other dislikes.
