Hotel Description
This 19th-century coaching inn is located between Matlock and Buxton in the heart of the Peak District. Located in the center of Bakewell's historic market town the property is easily accessible for visiting Haddon Hall a 5-minute drive away. Located on the edge of the Chatsworth Estate Chatsworth House can be reached by a short 10-minute drive. Rooms are located either in the beautiful main building or the courtyard. Each room is decorated to a high standard and refurbished in 2020. Our Eatery Restaurant offers exciting menus and serves breakfast lunch and dinner. The hotel has its own Coffee House serving a variety of coffees and specialist teas for all tastes. If you would prefer something different then the hotels bar offers a selection of gins whiskeys ales and so much more. Depending on the weather there is a small outside terraced area for guests to enjoy the local atmosphere.

Very relaxing stay and would...

Liked: Beautiful old fashioned hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent.
Disliked: No lift, so access for people with mobility issues maybe difficult. Lacking in carpark spaces.

A pleasant stay in a...

Liked: The property was interesting with a bit of a quirky layout but pleasant. The bedroom had all we needed and was clean. The staff were all pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: …. But when they say a small double, they really do mean small.
