Liked: The staff were friendly at reception and breakfast. The spa was very enjoyable. The room was clean.
Disliked: The furniture in the bedroom was a bit dated - brown wood fittings could do with a refresh. Service in Zephyr restaurant was disappointing. We ate in there the night we arrived. It was very busy with a lot of non residents. We stood for 5 mins waiting to be allocated a table we had booked. Staff were just rushing around. The waiter who served us did not seem to be very experienced. He did not so much pour our wine but slop it into the glass. The food was good but we sat for quite a while after our main meal to have plates cleared. We were not offered dessert menus and gave up trying to attract staff attention. We finally managed to get a coffee. A rather disappointing experience as we were in Jersey celebrating our wedding anniversary. We thought about using the steak restaurant but were told menu was limited to steak only due to faulty equipment. There was also a Prom on and this made entering and exiting the hotel rather difficult. On the Wednesday morning we were just finishing breakfast at 10am and we were asked to leave as they had to set up for another event.

Disappointing

Liked: The staff tried hard to please and were very friendly. The pool, steam room and sauna were good.
Disliked: The bed was small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was terrible: the shower door made a terrible noise when you opened/closed it, the handbasin had a large crack, the paintwork was shabby and scratched on the door, there were plastic tumblers (cheap ones) in the bathroom. The breakfast was mediocre: toast wasn't crisp, bread soft and not properly toasted, coffee terrible. All the bars were overly busy and no tables.

Great location, service and food...

Liked: Staff were superb, food in the main restaurant was excellent. The oysters, scallops and bass were just wow. Breakfast was superb. Many thanks for the head waitress for sorting out a table at short notice in the restaurant. Spa facilities were great.
Disliked: Room was a little smaller than expected and looks a little tired. That said, it served our purpose.
