The Royal Wells owes its name to Queen Victoria who frequently stayed at the hotel as a young princess in the early 19th century. Each room is individually designed and furnished with antiques. Ok, room was tired and...

Liked: Location
Disliked: We stayed for an extra night and whilst the first night was £109 which I think was a fair price for the room the second night was £150 which wasn't worth the money for the room only

Great 2 night 3 day...

Liked: Good location, on the hill above but near to town centre and Pantiles. Good room facilities but no air-conditioning but a fan provided as it was how when we visited. The food was excellent - compliments to the chef for consistency and presentation. Good value for money, good attentive and friendly staff.Offers a much more enjoyable and relaxed stay than more expensive hotels we have stayed at around the world.
Disliked: Nothing really to dislike. Very warm, mini heatwave when we visited late June 2025.Air-conditioning would have been a bonus but not essential

Stylish and relaxing hotel

Liked: Stylish public rooms, very impressive. Friendly and efficient staff.
Disliked: The weather was very hot but the bedroom windows could not be opened. Do not expect air con in a historic building but maybe that could be remedied. Otherwise, all excellent
