A very attractive, creatively furnished...

Liked: The property is an attractive, modest sized hotel. The public areas have been attractively furnished and decorated, especially the dining room. The breakfast was very good, and evening meals were reasonably priced, well cooked and generous in quantity. There is a lift which is good and having asked for a shower we were pleased that we had been accommodated. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The hotel is situated on an elevated road, that, although not far from the centre of Tunbridge Wells, roads leading from the town are quite steep in places when walking. There were thoughtful touches in our room, such as a radio (playing very pleasant classical music), bottles of water provided daily along with tea, coffee, biscuits etc..However, the door to our room didn’t close properly unless slammed, the flusher on the toilet was very hard to operate, the plug on the sink was difficult to close, not all the lights worked which made the room dark and although a small fan was provided, it wasn’t very efficient. These problems however, didn’t detract too much from an otherwise comfortable stay

Would stay again

Liked: Quaint little hotel. Rooms were nice but a little dated. Loved the little note from Housekeeping when we came in and that nice music was playing. Breakfast was nice with table service and a small selection of items at a buffet. Staff was very friendly
Disliked: Tried to take a shower at 8am in the morning and had no water. It seems that everyone in the hotel had the same idea. This was not ideal. There is also so phone in the room for me to call reception. When we came back around 11pm the door was closed and so was the bar. This was unfortunate and I would have expected to be able to get a drink before going to bed.

Great location, let down by...

Liked: Location is great, being at end of Common and 10 mins walk down to town. We've been regular visitors for many years but recent change of ownership have meant some unwelcome changes. We have had to deal with some unpleasant (male) check in staff, which will probably put us off returning.
Disliked: See above
