Liked: We really liked being in the centre of the beautiful town as we had a family reunion which was held close by. (However, see comment below.)The staff were so helpful, especially the young lady who served us breakfast. The breakfast selection was excellent. The room was cosy and very clean.
Disliked: Just 2 minor things….My sister was in a room overlooking the cathedral and her sleep was disrupted by the clock striking every hour. She would have valued having ear plugs provided. We would have valued a non slip bath mat to be provided which is common in hotels now) I have osteoporosis and break my bones easily☹️).We were however dismayed to find parking was off site. We hadn’t realised that point when we booked. It was inconvenient to haul luggage backwards and forwards to Sainsburys as well as to have the worry of parking security. For this reason, sadly, we will not be booking at The Royal Oak again.

Liked: Its a good notch up from a Inn with Accommodation with an excellent Bar Atmosphere, very good Food in the Restaurant and well appointed rooms with Character
Disliked: only problem No Car Park if you have Suitcases but 24 Hours in the local Car Park a 5 minute walk away is £ 2.60 for 24 hours
