Not the best experience, unfortunately.

Liked: Really nice location, perfect for access to the town centre and amenities.
Disliked: The main bar and restaurant were great, with the exception of the lighting in the snug, it was very bright and not cosy as you would expect. Our room wasn't ideal, unfortunately. We were at the top of the stairs behind reception. We could hear everything all night and early morning. It must have been located above the kitchen because we could hear the extractors going all night, and the ceiling must be paper thin because we could hear the guest above stomping around all night/morning too.. The extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom with no window, so again, it was not ideal. It was a dark room, without ample lighting, the main light didn't give much off. We actually ended up checking out a night early and driving home. Upon checkout, the manager didn't enquire as to why we were leaving early, otherwise I would have told her at the time.

Liked: Traditional country hotel.
Disliked: Room was a bit tired. Could do with a bit of TLC. Lack of instructions for use of room radiators and underfloor heating in the bathroom.

Liked: Great location for local eateries, good atmosphere. The breakfast was made to order and very good. The staff welcoming and friendly. Would stay again.

Beautiful hotel

Liked: Have stayed a number of times here, we love this hotel. Lovely breakfast, staff at breakfast were wonderful, beautiful snug. Located right in the centre of Kirkby Longsdale. Always found parking easy enough even though the hotel doesn't have it's own
Disliked: On this occasion booked two rooms, one for my parents and one for me and my son. Room 9 we have stayed in, is beautiful, right on the front over looking the square. Never stayed in room 14 before, although the room is spacious and the bathroom fabulous the décor is really gaudy and unfitting with the other rooms we have stayed in. Possibly just not to our taste but in comparison to the other rooms its disappointing. I wouldn't let that put anyone off staying at this hotel though. Also there was a leak in the bar area (absolutely not the hotels fault and the staff dealt with everything really well) It just meant that the snug and the lounge area was packed so had to go elsewhere to have a sit, a coffee, lunch and read. I think this was also due to the fact that the lounge appeared to be fully booked out for a birthday. Again just one of those things, I had brought my parents to my favourite town but we couldn't enjoy the hotel as we had hoped on this occasion
