Liked: Location
Disliked: The hotel smelled from it's aging, crumbling, structure. Nobody at reception when we checked in. No safes, no refrigerator. Separate hot and cold faucets. It's an old hotel charging premium prices for run down conditions.

Good Choice.

Liked: Old and historic hotel right in th middle of town, overlooking the harbor. It has been nicely maintained and upgraded over the decades. It stands out in the relatively "off the beaten track" of the Outer Hebrides, with spacious and comfortable rooms, two good restaurants and friendly and helpful staff.

Great staff, renovated rooms and...

Liked: I was afraid because the most recent reviews. However, I got one of the rooms that were recently renovated and was beyond what we expected. Cleanliness was excellent.Hot water in the shower and very comfortable beds. What they call king size bed is actually a queen in America but no problem. Downsides: that there was no refrigerator in the room, no air conditioning but we opened the windows so no problem. And the fact that there are no elevators which is common on the older hotel through Scotland.Breakfast delicious!! We were told they changed the chef. The best porridge we had during our visit and stayed in 5 different hotels in Scotland.Staff, all of them, especially TAHI was amazing and very helpful.Restaurant for dinner was very homemade authentic food and very delicious as well. Location was extremely convenient and close to everything.We really enjoyed our stay.
Disliked: No refrigerator in the room 🫤No elevator - that’s common in Scotland No air conditioning in the room - we opened the window
