The Royal Hotel

Disappointing

Liked: Location was good. Fair amount of parking space.
Disliked: Hotel decor is very tired. Bed was old and very uncomfortable. Bar area very basic.

Overall the Royal Hotel is...

Liked: We didn't partake with breakfast offered by the Hotel as we found it to expensive, the catering establishments within easy walking distance offered a much cheaper range of breakfasts and great value for money
Disliked: On check in we arrived into the reception area to check in at 14.50 and was abruptly told that the check in wasn't until 15.00 and that we would have to wait until then. On entering our Double Room (115) we found that there were no plug sockets either side of the bed, when bringing this up with the same receptionist she replied" unfortunately your room is the only room that didn't have them" and gave the impression that we only got that room because we had booked it through Booking.com and not directly with the Royal Hotel. Not a good impression to start our holiday

Clean hotel, well located &...

Liked: Great location close to sea front & easy access car park.
Disliked: Room had an uneven floor making you feel wobbly under foot. Small round table leaning, making it impossible to place things on it especially drinks. TV poorly sited in the corner of the room & far too small for the room size.

Was just for one night...

Liked: Location perfect
Disliked: Room was full of dust, I could write my name in it and floors were dirty especially the bathroom floor
