Don’t book a superior double,

Liked: Centrally located for rail and bus. Great buffet breakfast and plenty of choice. Restaurant staff, housekeeping all very pleasant and helpful. Assistant manager was poor in customer service, could have been a bit more helpful.
Disliked: The room booked was a superior double, the room given certainly wasn’t, more like a shoe box, hotel is quite old and could do with a complete refurb.

Fine for short option but...

Liked: Standard somewhat dated British seaside property. In need to a refresh but room was pleasantlyComfortable with a nice view, good bathroomAnd good size. Very clean. Breakfast good. Why not a higher rating ? Absolutely zero sound proofing between rooms. Kept up most of the night from squeaking floorboard above our heads with the room occupant walking around all night. Not the hotels fault the guest was so active (midnight, 3am, 5am!) but result was broken intermittent sleep and very tired.

Reliable choice

Liked: Solid choice of hotel. Lovely staff. Everything is nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. There are some awful hotels in Oban but this one I would book again.
Disliked: Everything at the hotel is well worn but no real complaints

Good

Liked: Stayed one night for work, room was clean and comfortable. Parking was available behind hotel which was helpful. Good food in the restaurant bar.
Disliked: Hotel and room are a little dated, but did the job for 1 night work trip for the price!

Liked: It’s in a great location
Disliked: This is an old building, which is not well maintained at all. The fabrics and furnishings are in poor quality. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. You can hear the bathroom fan and plumbing systems not only in your own room, but all those rooms around you. I had some concerns about fire and water safety.
