Underwhelmed by this hotel

Liked: Great location. Very close to the castle and long walk, which was an absolute delight, such an amazing walk. Complimentary drink on arrival was a nice touch and much appreciated.
Disliked: The hotel had air conditioning units in both the bar lounge area and dining room, yet neither were turned on during our stay, despite it being very hot. The drainage system in my bath wasn't great, so when taking a shower, you're having to stand in a pool of water, as it doesn't drain away adequately. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. For a 4 star hotel at £179 per night, I was expecting real eggs for the scrambled eggs I ordered, as in, someone "cracking an egg" and scrambling it. What I was presented with, were eggs which were clearly of the powdered variety. Not fresh, completely tasteless with a horrible texture and consistency. Totally unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. The coffee was also a let down, instant coffee presented in a cafetiere. I had a small double which was decent in size, but a little tired and with no plug socket near the bedside table, which would've been useful for charging my phone and being able to keep the phone nearby to check the time etc.. overall I was very disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

Liked: We stayed one night as we were visiting Windsor. The hotel is perfectly located, staff very friendly, the hotel is impeccably clean. Strongly recommend. We will be staying again
