Liked: The welcome, room and restaurant was excellent.
Disliked: The parking cost of £20.00 was not good. It should have been free for guests at the hotel.

Very nice stay in a...

Liked: The room was very nice, felt very luxurious. Nice big comfortable bed, great tv and nice bathroom. Breakfast was really nice the next morning.
Disliked: The room was a bit warm so we opened the windows and it was then a bit noisy at night. There was a Dyson air con unit which worked on a low speed but couldn't adjust it without the remote control. Should have just asked reception about it but we didn't bother as we were only there for 1 night.

Nothing resembles a five star...

Disliked: When ordering room service in the evening at this 5 star hotel you have to go down to the reseption and pay immediately before they put in your order. Normally in other hotels you can pay when you check out. I brought cash to pay for room service, but was told that was unexeptable, finally the reseptionist gave in, but a waiter was supposed to give me back the 15£ change from a 25£ note. He only gave me 5£ back, in chump change. Maybe it’s just me, but I find it quite rude to take a 10£ tip without asking. Ordered nachos with cheese from room service, it was inedible because of the sauce all over it, much too sweet, like sweet and sour sauce.My room was on the 8th floor of a separat building, it’s s bit of a maze to find your way out pluss the walk outside through the parking lot and courtyard and all the hallways and stairs back in again. There are small ants in the bathroom. Breakfast is very basic. The whole stay felt annoying and a waste of money.

Great stay…highly recommended

Liked: Great hotel, highly recommended. Entrance needs a ramp for luggage and probably more lights on the hotel itself as you can see much of it at night.There is only one elevator which has two doors. One for the guests to the rooms and the other to the kitchen and service areas. Always smells like food. Suggest to add a refresher to kill the food smell.

Lovely centrally located hotel

Liked: Friendly staff, lovely room with great shower and good toiletries and towels, plenty of storage space and kettle with tea/hot chocolate, a capsule coffee machine and fridge. Very centrally located a short walk from Reading Station.
