Friendly, delightful old pub B&B...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. There was a nice variety of options including a very nice full English with vegetarian option. The staff were outstanding! They were friendly, helpful, and clearly hard working. The place had a nice atmosphere.
Disliked: The rooms were a bit cramped and there was some noise from the pub downstairs, but this was compensated for by the old pub atmosphere and the exceptional staff.

Good location, but expensive for...

Liked: Location close to city walls. Good hot breakfast options.
Disliked: The room was very hot and stayed hot even though the outside temperatures were not high during the stay. So I had to leave the window open, even though the road outside is busy. Luckily I had earplugs. The mattress was not comfortable- the springs were very noticeable. Breakfast only started at 8 am, which meant I had to miss breakfast one day.

Liked: Lovely room with comfy bed. Good shower. Breakfast brilliant as usual. Free parking a big bonus. We have now been lots of times and we only come to York if we can book here
