A good Ridgeway stay with...

Liked: The staff were wonderful and really made our stay, incl the owner/manager. We were walking the Ridgeway and got very wet and soggy and were desperate for a bath/shower and unfortunately something was wrong with the boilers and availability of hot water. This was frustrating but they were so apologetic and eventually sorted things and ran us a bath in another room. In a different place this would have been a big issue but they handled it so well. Aside from that, the beds were comfy and the room fan was a blessing. A few things are a little faded and in need of repair as others have mentioned, but on the whole these don't affect the stay. Lastly, the dinner was really good! And also, the breakfast. All in all, a good choice for the Ridgeway.
Disliked: As above, some bathroom issues. Windows just need a good window cleaner. It's little finishing things really. But the staff are so lovely you just forget about it all really.

Simply charming and atmospheric inn,...

Liked: Love the charming village, a pub, a church and a village green, and the friendly staff. Great food and breakfast! Firepit and board games available for guests, which gives a great atmosphere. Lots of locals in the evening, it’s so nice.
Disliked: Can be a bit noisy

Exceptional

Liked: The staff are all exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The bedrooms are large well appointed and clean. The food in the Pub's restaurant is really good, genuinely home cooked and delicious.
Disliked: Nothing, an exceptional stay.

Perfect country inn.

Liked: Excellcellent property, great room with good views of the picturesque village near the Ridgeway. Perfect stop for someone hiking on the Berkshire Downs. The quality of the meals was exceptional, and the breakfast was a great value.
Disliked: Nothing to improve on, cannot praise this place highly enough
