Disliked: Check in staff could have been a lot more helpful and looked into the issue of our room type not being available and communicated with us Very poor customer relations

The luxury was awesome and...
Liked: We were not aware of a breakfast. If it was available, someone should have mentioned it. We made the reservation months ago and frankly don't remember if breakfast was offered. The hotel was perhaps the most beautiful and distinguished we have ever seen. We were in awe over the feeling of being surrounded by such luxury.
Disliked: At first we were so pleased to be on the top (12th) floor. It gave us the illusion of staying in part of the penthouse. Unfortunately, a tremendous storm over night, which flooded the city, resulted in a gushing leak in the roof all along the window wall and, to a lesser extent, in the bathroom over the commode. The sound of the water hitting the floor woke us early and we reported the problem immediately. Another room was offered. However, inasmuch as we were due to check out that morning, repacking and a change would be fruitless. We did manage to use the restroom facilities elsewhere in the hotel. To the credit of the staff at checkout, a discount was applied to my bill.

Liked: Lobby is gorgeous - love the old world feel and decor. Highly recommend a corner room - it?s a bit larger and better lighting.
Disliked: The only negative is the staff at front desk and booking system is not up to par. I specifically requested a high floor room away from elevator and we moved twice until they could get that right! They have s bit of an attitude about them that I didn?t experience anywhere else in the hotel. Housekeeping and food/beverage/spa all super friendly and professional.

Liked: The location was perfect for my purposes. The lounge was very nice and the staff was helpful.
Disliked: I had no complaints at all.

Quite a bit better than...
Liked: Coffee at the cafe on the first floor near the check-in desk was very good and smooth; not bitter. Extra large cup and free refills for just under $5. Domenica's restaurant on the 1st floor was outstanding.
Hotel is very pretty and nicely maintained.
Housekeeping staff (Sonya Martin) well above average. Impeccable service with a smile.
Disliked: The receptionist at check-in did not activate my key cards, necessitating me going down to the lobby again at 9:15 pm after a long day of traveling that included a 2-hr flight delay. Activating my keys was just about her only job upon checking me in, because my reservation was prepaid. She simply had to find my reservation and hand me a set of working key cards, or even one working key card. Went down to the concierge desk. No one was on line, and I stood there for over two minutes while the only concierge on duty looked at his computer, facing me, but did not even bother to look up until he was done. Booked a sports massage due to a migraine headache that came on at 5 am the morning after my arrival. My sports massage turned out to be Swedish at best, including a 15-20 minute head/neck massage that I could have done better on my own. Gave my masseuse feedback on what was not working, to which she responded with absolutely nothing. No comment and no change in what she was doing, leaving me dissatisfied and perplexed. Requested the strongest masseuse on staff. The masseuse I was given was perhaps the weakest I've ever had, at what supposedly is a premier establishment. Also, my masseuse shorted me by 8 mins of a supposed 1 hr massage, which included 10 mins to change into a robe. Neither my masseuse nor the rest of the spa staff offered me a mimosa or champagne after my massage, that other guests were offered and served in the post-service lounge rear lounge right in front of me. The massage nowhere near helped my original issue of a migraine headache and the experience caused me stress and anxiety, making my headache worse. Explained the issues to the spa director. She thanked me, indicating that my masseuse had only been with the Roosevelt spa for two months, and she was glad to have the feedback. I was not charged for the massage and was given a new appointment two days later, an hour prior to leaving for my flight, a satisfactory solution.

Overall fantastic hotel, clean and...
Liked: The beds were great. The foyer decor was amazing. Location very good. The door men were fantastic, very welcoming with friendly faces.
Loved the sazerac bar.
Disliked: Couldn?t find my booking on arrival. I also extended my room and the card fob didn?t work with the extension. I asked about this at the reception, and was made to feel like I wasn?t good enough to stay ?oh you?re staying here?

Very laidback and pleasant
Liked: I liked how the staff was very welcoming, they made sure we made it safe traveling and checked in. The room was very clean and hotel was quiet.
Disliked: They didn?t have a refrigerator or microwave so I couldn?t take any food away from the hotel.
