Food and Drink Options

The on-site No.4 Restaurant boasts an AA Rosette and serves up seasonal dishes in a cozy setting. While room service isn't 24/7, the local area is packed with late-night eateries and cafes. Complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, and fresh fruit in your room are a nice touch, especially after a long night out. Breakfast is available the next morning—ideal if you sleep in after the encore.

Nightlife Options

Clifton Village offers a more laid-back nightlife scene, with stylish wine bars and pubs just steps away. For those looking for more action, the city center’s clubs and live music hotspots are a quick ride away. The hotel itself doesn't host live music, but its proximity to Bristol's top venues makes it a solid pick for gig-goers.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel's character and charm, often noting its friendly staff and excellent location. Many mention how peaceful the neighborhood is, especially after a loud night out. The private garden is a bonus, offering a quiet spot to regroup before or after a show.

Areas for Improvement

Some rooms are on the smaller side, and without air conditioning, it can get a bit toasty in summer. The hotel doesn’t have an elevator, so keep that in mind if you're hauling gear or luggage up the stairs. Still, most guests find the overall experience more than makes up for it.

Good value and really friendly...

Liked: Really friendly staff, great location, lovely breakfast
Disliked: We were in an attic bedroom . Completely impractical if you have mobility issues . It was stifling in there and the fan provided was a small desk top one and totally inadequate . We sleep a wink . Bathroom very tired but clean

Such a shame

Liked: The location is great.
Disliked: We have stayed in Bristol every 6 months for at least 10years and this was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Our room was awful. Never ever have I checked out of a hotel early. The first 3 floors are lovely as exactly how it looks in the photos. Then you go up to the attic, the little stairs taking us to our room in the loft were daunting out of place, anyone older or large wouldn't have been able to go up and down the stairs,it was as if the whole area was a last thought. The rooms in this area of the hotel are not fit for guests, stained ceilings, stained skirting, stained carpet and walls, rubbish left on the floor even after room service, also it was ridiculously hot. Fridge didn't work and produced warm air. The bathroom was disgusting and smelled like rotting rubbish. The whole top floor seemed cheap and not in keeping with the rest of the hotel. It needs to be refurbished up there. Maybe reserve the rooms up there for walk-ins or staff. Not the type to complain, but haven't slept for two nights, spoke to the staff who said we couldn't move rooms as it was fully booked. Did tell the the staff there today about our issues but met with nothing constructive back and then charged for parking. I tried the website just to contact them with the issues we encountered but kept receiving an error code on the contact page they have.

Comfortable

Liked: Located well
Disliked: No permits left at the hotel for parking despite being told on the phone I could get one, and as I couldn’t get the on street parking app to work I had to leave earlier than intended in the morning

Unbeatable location, great staff, very...

Liked: Location is unbeatable. Room is compact, as described, but very nice, with a very comfortable bed, and a mini-bar with chilled drinks, kettle and real coffee with a cafetière, and fresh fruit on the house. Excellent wifi too, and a fan in my room because the weather was hot. Lovely staff at reception, that couldn't do more. Will definitely return.
Disliked: No air-conditioning, but a Georgian Building, so of course to be expected. Otherwise pretty much perfect, especially at the price.
