Great room, clean, superb location,...

Liked: The room was clean, reasonably new and well appointed. Bonus points for snacks - pack of biscuits and a pack of crisps, that's a nice touch. There was even a small mini bar (didn't use!). Nice freebie toiletries. Check-in was very smooth. Air con in the room, which is very efficient but a bit noisy; you'll need to turn it off to sleep. Superb location; short walk from the tube, loads of restaurants locally, easy walk to Kensington Palace and Gardens, Hyde Park, Nat Hist Museum and the RAH.
Disliked: The bar closes early - not really a problem in London, but worth knowing if you're hoping for a nightcap (plus there was a small minibar in the room). Don't bother with breakfast; food was pleasant enough but despite being a buffet the service was spectacularly shambolic. Nobody was checking the food so it kept running out (while I was there bread rolls, OJ and almost all hot food ran out), took the chef about 15 minutes to produce another six rashers of bacon which of course then vanished so it was empty again :D Tables weren't getting cleared, and the area isn't big enough for the number of guests trying to use it, so people were queuing up and sitting at uncleared tables. Better options locally in Earls Court.
