Good experience for a night

Liked: Very grand accommodation. Fireplaces crackling in Autumn. Friendly staff. Comfy bed. Delicious food.
Disliked: Being old it does creak when people move around. Water pressure in the bathroom wasn’t great.

Liked: The staff are all warm, friendly, accommodating and helpful.
Disliked: The room was missing a basic- a mirror and felt a bit worn. The halls were littered with candy wrappers (Easter Sunday egg hunt leftovers) that remained the next morning. There were children running up and down the halls screaming, it wasn’t peaceful. The shared bathrooms need a facelift, worn and were missing bath mats, hand towels etc.

Disappointing

Liked: The room was light and spacious.
Disliked: The bed was creaky. The shower leaked. There was no coffee in the morning downstairs unless you took their breakfast. Otherwise it was nescafe in the hallway. And the cups were not cleaned and there was no hot water left in the boiler upstairs for coffee.

Very lovely old world hotel.

Liked: The hotel is beautifully presented and has an old world manor house feel about it.
Disliked: We are not young any more and our room on the 2nd floor presented a challenge to our ageing fitness.

Liked: A magnificent building with so much history, beautifully set out indoors. The gardens were a little untidy but overall a wonderful experience.
