Good place to stay if...

Liked: The view from my room. Ask for one at the rear which provides a great view of the Cathedral.
Disliked: It's a 20 minute walk into town. They do have a shuttle but it only runs after 6:00P. Needs to run all day and also provide transport to railway station as getting a taxi at 5:30A proved difficult. No hot water in one room's shower. The other room was just ok the first night. Great the second. Staff indicated it was some sort of government overreach which mandated a certain maximum temp. But temp in my room the second night was fine. Never was in my friends room. So obviously it was an issue with the hotel itself, not a government mandate. And no issue at the other hotel where we stayed on the same trip. So basically, they lied about the cause of the problem. As a result my friend had to walk 20 minutes AGAIN into town to purchase a dry shampoo at the local Boots.

Lovely hotel, superb location, lovely...

Liked: The hotel was superb and the location on the river was breathtaking. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were beautiful and close walking distance to the centre of Salsibury.

Great to stay and rest

Liked: The locations is amazing , very confy rooms and the staff very warm
Disliked: You can improve a little bit the breakfasts, it’s good but it can have a few more options

Peaceful and professional with wonderful...

Liked: Location , cleanliness, river and cathedral views. Friendly and exceptional staff team . Terrace a plus . Well kept grounds
Disliked: Would have liked a restaurant but didn’t use the shuttle bus facility so don’t know how good that was. Didn’t bother us as we were able to walk into the centre and the walks are beautiful and probably did us good. Portraits of all men and military ones rather depressing and international visitors might find these images inappropriate.

Comfortable and convenient stay in...

Liked: Comfortable and well-sized room. We had room 15 which also had a little patio with outside seating -- not all rooms seemed to have this, so something to request. Everything was very clean and well-kept, and the room had air conditioning. The setting was very nice and calm, with close proximity to the historic heart of Salisbury. Parking was easy and plentiful. Decent included breakfast.
Disliked: There weren't very many options for lunch/dinner within a quick 5-minute walk from the hotel and the hotel doesn't have a restaurant or pub.
