In Kendal town center the Riverside Hotel is a 17th-century building with a state-of-the-art recreation club. Rooms have river views and Windermere and the Yorkshire Dales are a 15-minute drive away. Most of the rooms have views of the River Kent. Features include satellite TV tea and coffee a private bathroom and free Wi-Fi. Free parking is also provided. The Riverview Restaurant uses local produce some of which comes from the hotel's own Victorian kitchen garden. Liked: The staff on reception and in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The location by the river was lovely. The hotel and spa were a perfect stop over.

Budget. Not the nicest

Liked: The view and the cornice around the ceiling light
Disliked: The staff weren’t very helpful or welcoming before 3pm. It wasn’t very clean. There was n step free access - to get to the lift you go down about 5 steps. Same number of steps to the first floor.

Liked: Didn't have breakfast... Staff were great , very chatty and helpful...
Disliked: Maybe the pool and spa could do with a refurb..
