Good place to stay for...

Liked: This was an overnight stay. The staff were happy to hold my bags in a secure location while I strolled around the town and returned later to check-in. The hotel is in a great location on the riverside in Kendal. It is very close to the railway station. I had a large room which was very comfortable and had a view of the river. I had some pub grub in the hotel restaurant (Steak and Ale Pie). I had a train to catch so I didn't stay for breakfast. I was happy with my stay.

Disliked: All a little tired. Bar tables sticky. Carpets grubby. People allowed to smoke outside main entrance so you have to walk through the smoke. Poor breakfast - over-cooked and expensive and poor service.
