Very good

If it wasn't for the...

Liked: The room was comfortable and the taff were very helpful.
Disliked: I have some mobility issues and I wasn't aware of the stairs. I realise this is part of the building structure and would probably have gone somewhere else had I known,

Hotel is what I need...

Liked: the helpful reception staff and attentive bar staff. Room has great view of the river. comfortable. Hotel is what I need comfortable, good internet, close to my visiting office and at a reasonable rate.
Disliked: Bathroom was a little cramped, decoration around the window needs attention. The hotel suffers that it is an old building meaning there are Significant changes in floor levels within the building with reception and the bar level half a floor difference in level which means climbing a load of stairs.

Convenient for a stopover but...

Liked: Central location with parking
Disliked: Few staff meant we were kept waiting twice at reception and then for breakfast. Seems that there were some 2 people working the whole hotel!Decor was very tired and bathroom could have been cleaner

Liked: I liked the location and the fact it had an onsite swimming pool and gym
Disliked: I didn’t like the fact that the window was unsafe, it opened far too much for the safety of my child in my opinion the windows need to be restricted to opening a certain height.

Barely passable

Liked: Reception staff were friendly and a good central location within easy walking distance of local shops and restaurants. There was a good cooked breakfast on offer (other than some watery mushrooms). A standard breakfast buffet offering.
Disliked: The room was dated, dingy and dirty. The bed was acceptable but not ideal and in need of replacement. The carpet was worn and pulled up in places. The bathroom was dirty (mainly a floor which hasn't seen a proper clean in far too long). The shower door wasn't properly installed so the entire floor got a shower too which didn't improve it much. Travel cot was not in the room as requested and had to be brought after check in, when we were then told mattress covers are not provided due to health and safety. I struggle to see how this is hygienic and we covered it ourselves. At breakfast the staff were too busy chatting in the kitchen to greet and serve the guests present. We won't be staying again.
