Liked: Very warm & welcoming staff, building had great character, breakfast was best in a long time.The Ripon Inn is smashing it.The location was perfect to go visit Knaresborough, Harrogate, Brimham Rocks etc & Ripon itself was a sweet place to wonder around with its lovely market square, cathedral and windy streets.

Liked: Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The bar and garden amenities were very good. Breakfast was very good.
Disliked: My room was very near the front of the property so road noise, customers leaving late, etc. were a nuisance. If I go again I would ask for a room further back from the road and front entrance.

Liked: Breakfast was good, the room was comfy
Disliked: The room was over the front door / reception area so we could hear the door banging closed a lot until the early hours. We had children with us who were trying to sleep. Also noisy from live music on in the bar. The evening meal really let the place down, the chips were overcooked, kids chicken gougeons were like concrete and £10 for 12 chicken wings which were tiny, rock hard and awful - we left them.

Liked: Hotel in good location with beautiful gardens, lovely big room and bathroom. Breakfast good.
Disliked: Reception on arrival very poor. Went to check in at 2.30 and was told to come back at 3pm, told room not ready, but didn't ask for name to confirm this. Receptionist very brusque, no info given on breakfast, when I asked about it told card in room. No info on green cleaning. Whilst getting dressed another person opened our room door with a key card. Said he was disorientated and got wrong room. Had to have cards reprogrammed. Housekeeping knocking on door at 8.20 am, waking us. Never asked about green clean at breakfast, but heard other guests being asked. Previously stayed at Harrogate Inn and service much better.
