Lovely stay close to Ripon...

Liked: Great location and gardens. Very comfortable room and dog friendly. Good breakfast.and bar area.

Nice hotel, well located for...

Liked: Loved the decor and location. Lovely grounds. Room good size and clean. Staff were pleasant.
Disliked: Parking is a bit hit of a lottery. Room was hot. A fan was provided but quite loud so made sleeping difficult ( but I’m a poor sleeper so may be OK for others). Lift was the slowest in Christendom! Took ages to move up and down two floors and groaned ( literally) to a halt when reaching the chosen floor. Minor aspects really as overall it’s a nice, well set out, decorated hotel, which is very handy for central Ripon.

Beautiful place, needs improvement on...

Liked: Very well decorated hotel with a good ambience, in a great and scenic location close to lots of tourist spots and walkable to Ripon city centre. Size of the bedroom itself was better than advertised, however the bathroom was almost too small to get into for a pregnant person. Free car parking was available on all 3 nights of our stay. You can forego cleaning your room for a free drink. Husband enjoyed the breakfasts and the lady who greeted us on Sunday morning was the most friendly & enthusiastic we encountered there.
Disliked: Had no hairdryer which for a longer stay was a problem, it was reported but never got sorted before we left. We ate outside the hotel more than we would have liked as it was a struggle to get the sides that were listed on the menu (f&b never brought chips willingly, and even said they had to be ordered separate despite being included on menus and in the price) - needs updated menu or further training given depending on which is correct. Check in desk was not manned full time with people having to wait with young families & luggage for the bar team to be able to check them in (often not for TOO long but was a source of confusion for many). Our double room was two twins put together with a larger mattress, which, being pregnant, wasn't the comfiest. Didn't seem to be any air-con or heating in the room.

Liked: The location was perfect. There is lots of space inside the hotel, and large gardens. The room was big enough for two of us, and very clean, it even had an iron and ironing board. Staff were great and very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely Hotel

Liked: Comfy, clean and quiet.Breakfast was good!
Disliked: The queue to order food. The on line ordering system from the table only did the garden menu and not the restaurant menu.
