The people at the hotel were pleasant and accommodating. Just wish the top bunk was more secure and had a barrier or rail.

Liked: Clean and we could come and go as we wanted.
Disliked: Wish the top bunk had a railing. It does not!

Thank you so much for your hospitality! From my first contact and through our entire stay the staff extended every courtesy and professionalism - qualities I value the most.

Very good

Liked: I choose this hotel because of the street art. Mainly the Bonk Art pieces.
Disliked: Locks on doors feel a bit flimsy / safe didn’t work

Horrible, certainly not worth the...

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: The pictures provided do not show the rooms properly. The whole place is run-down and quite disfunctional. One does not feel comfortable at all. I changed hotels after the first night. Staff was quite useless too. This was one of the worst hotel experiences ever.

Good value but wouldn't stay...

Liked: The location is great if you need to be on the lower East Side - subway right there, close to NYU. The hotel was extremely clean and felt safe, with the front entrance only accessible by code. The price is amazing for the location but don't expect any frills. Hallways and public spaces have wonderful artwork. Bathroom updated with nice tile and an excellent shower.
Disliked: This is definitely a budget property. The room was sparsely decorated and looked more like a dorm room or white collar prison cell than a hotel room. Shampoo and body wash only - no conditioner or lotion. Adequate mattress on a cheap metal frame. No coffee in room (coffee maker if you have your own filters and coffee).

I stay at the ridge...

Liked: The bed was adequate, the neighborhood was eclectic, the hotel as usual, was secure and comfortable, the noise level was sufficient… what we need to say is we come to New York for the sounds of the city… and having a first floor room, we definitely heard the sounds of the city, but that is something that we come to New York for…. Others might be bothered by the noise level, but we thrive in it… if we want a quiet, we would stay home
Disliked: There is nothing that we did not like

Noise from street, unprofessional staff,...

Liked: Location is good. But it comes with it's own noise problem.
Disliked: I don't know where to start:- AC made a ticking noise, so we let staff know. They sent an engineer, their solution was disabling the AC. (and yes we stayed without AC for 5 nights)- We asked for another room, staff said "we're all booked, but we can check tomorrow morning". Tomorrow morning they said, check afternoon. Afternoon they said check evening. Evening they said in the morning they can see what they can do. I'm not joking or exaggerating. In the end, they didn't change our room.- Street noise... Hotel is basically next to a main street, insulation is very poor. In the end we had to use ear plugs, otherwise impossible to sleep from the noise outside.- Room was definitely smaller and older than the photos. I will upload some pictures, you can see yourself. Check the bed especially, that wasn't comfortable for 2 persons at all.- Room wasn't clean enough. I could give it 6/10 but you could still see hairs or dust from previous guests or stains on the furniture (check photos). - Staff in general not professional. They check their phones, and don't even look at your face until you try to grab their attention. Also as I explained above, they made our experience 2x worse. I don't understand how come they were not able to offer a new room in 5 nights, and that was OK for them to have a guest stay there without AC. Maybe worst part is, we had to explain the same problems over and over, to different people, or even to the same staff 2-3 times as they seemed already forgot about it.I would gladly pay 30-40 bucks more and stay in a way better place. Before booking here, check comments from other guests please.
