The Red Lion Inn Alnmouth

A great place to stay...

Liked: A pleasant pub, centrally located in this beautiful coastal village with spacious, well-appointed and well-maintained rooms. Staff were helpful, and the bar was friendly and weloming. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. As well as the pub, there are excellent eating places in the village, although booking is necessary.
Disliked: Parking is an issue. It must be a real problem in the school holidays. There isn't even a dedicated drop-off, although the street is one-way so you can just double-park briefly outside the pub.

Liked: Beautiful spacious room and bed. Bathroom was also lovely!

Alnmouth is a very friendly...

Liked: The friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was very good and on one night we tried the in-house pizza. Both pizzas were delicious. Room 3 was very comfortable.
Disliked: There was a need for an anti slip mat in the shower.

Superb

Liked: The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was tastefully decorated and everything was provided.Lovely full English breakfast. Location is very central to explore Alnmouth.
Disliked: I think a wardrobe would have been useful especially if staying more than 1 night.

Liked: Great location- near amenities and beach. Great back garden/ decking area. Nice spacious bathroom and efficient shower- the easiest to put on and regulate temp I've come across.
Disliked: Too much Brie in the Continental breakfast option; maybe some Gouda or other cheese to supplement it.No fruit or yoghurt

Liked: Room breakfast and staff were excellent.
Disliked: Catering! Firstly the nice pictures on the website of available food totally misleading. No food available other than pizzas. Secondly pizzas were advised as being available until 22.00 every day and until 21.00 on Sunday. This was advertised on a large board at the hotel entrance. However I invited family to join us on the Sunday at 7pm only to be informed that they had stopped serving on Sunday at 5pm!
