Pleasant

Liked: Good location close to the centre of the town. Comfortable bed and spacious room.
Disliked: Poor communication ahead of arrival - no details provided re key lock box. Had to go to pub and then phone someone to get details. Also, no info provided re car parking registration, until some time after our arrival, which led some to anxiety about whether or not we would be fined ( we weren’t in the end).

Acces was an issue and...

Liked: We had difficulty in gaining access to our Coach House booking because entry is via the back from the upper car park.At no point was this made clearThe bar is an unrelated business and the bargirl was not aware that the coach house had its own entrance It would have been more than helpful to have known this!!Once inside no internet! And no logs for the log burner!Additionally when we got home, I discovered that I had been charged for 3 rooms!!I had clicked on an icon pay £5 to upgrade your room ended up being charged for 2 rooms and was not offered a full refund when I took this up with booking.com as per cancellation charges in Terms and Conditions I was told that I had booked 2 rooms, certainly not my intention, so after protracted dispute with Booking.com on phone and exchanges of emails I was eventually told that I would be credited for the unused 2nd room which counted as a “ no show “ and that £79.85 cancellation levy would therefore apply as per T&CSo in summary al these issued made for a stressful situation Do not be tempted to upgrade your room, you may be charged twice as I was by both Host and Stay and by booking.comAll somewhat distressing on top of struggling to find our room and being incorrectly advised by the girl behind the bar” of a completely unrelated businessShe did not know that the Coach House has entirely separate access from the upper car park and no internet, how come ?
