Hotel public areas were good. Morse bar was good. Parking was a bit dear, but OK. Breakfast was as expected, but my room let it all down.
Liked: Breakfast was good.
Disliked: Room view wasn't! Room was less quality than what I expected for the money. In fact, I am sure I was given an ordinary room.

Lovely facility and location.
Liked: Great castle-like old building. Room was quaint but small. Nespresso in the room was a nice perk. Very attentive staff. Location near the heart of Oxford was wonderful!
Disliked: Complimentary breakfast would have been appreciated.

Disliked: Room dated. whole hotel needs refurbishment. staff ok but not polished. Hotel falls short of competitors in London and internationally.

Disappointing
Liked: Building is beautiful and the breakfast was good
Disliked: Very overpriced for standard chain hotel. Water in the shower was not very hot on day of arrival but acceptable. It was worse the following morning so I mentioned it at check out. Receptionist was completely uninterested, and I received no response at all to a private message with feedback following my stay; a simple acknowledgment and apology would have made a big difference. Would not recommend, the service was not the standard you would expect, especially at this price point. Had far superior stay and service at Hampton by Hilton in Oxford for a quarter of the price.

Disappointing
Liked: We enjoyed our stay and had a lovely room. The staff were helpful. The food in the Alice restaurant was delicious - dinner and breakfast - although some of the male serving staff were so poorly trained that they let their female colleagues down, let alone the guests. The low mark is because I left an item behind in my room. When, 48 hours later I realised the loss, I couldn’t get through on the phone to anyone to help me as no one answered it. The next morning I emailed and then I rang and this time got through and was told I would receive an answer by the end of the day but I heard nothing. The next day I had to ring three times as I kept getting cut off while I was transferred to different departments. Not surprisingly the item I left behind was not found. So it spoiled my memories of the stay and it was shocking that such a large hotel chain had no system for lost property as guests must often leave things behind by mistake. I still feel sad when I think about it.

Enjoyed my stay
Liked: Very good location
Disliked: Arranged a 6 o'clock wake up call. NOt called. It was important as had an early hospital visit. Fortunately l was awake.

Liked: Location and the style of furnishings downstairs
Disliked: Un trained staff, no welcome, made an error with taking card payments off my self and my partner which gave me very much concern for my whole evening, very disappointed with the room and the corridor that it was situated in which was run down, one tiny hand soap, no slippers.Disappointed unfortunately.
