The Randolph Hotel by Graduate Hotels

Hotel public areas were good. Morse bar was good. Parking was a bit dear, but OK. Breakfast was as expected, but my room let it all down.

Liked: Breakfast was good.
Disliked: Room view wasn't! Room was less quality than what I expected for the money. In fact, I am sure I was given an ordinary room.

Liked: Quite room, good size, expected amenities including a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules. Porter was very helpful.
Disliked: It was a bit of a treasure hunt to find the room. Lots of twisting corridors, set of stairs corners. I guess it is part of the charm of grand Victorian hotel partitioned for economy travel.

Expensive but a great stay.

Liked: A fantastic breakfast. Beautiful room. Spotlessly clean. Location was walking distance to everything we wanted to visit.
Disliked: The large double bed was actually two singles pushed together. This means there’s a join in the middle where the two mattresses meet.

Liked: Location, location, location
Disliked: The bed was too uncomfortable, soft and was comprised of two separate mattresses. So coupled with the ultra soft beds, it was impossible to sit or lay towards the middle of it, as we felt like falling into an abyss lol. The furniture and carpet just seemed tired. There were many chips on the baseboards and the closet was not ideal (it’d be amazing if there were hooks in a proper wall for coats and handbags for example.Oh and the bathroom was very slow to drain, I couldn’t take a quick shower without the water pooling on my feet, so I had to stop the water every once in a while for it to drain.And also in the subject of shower: there was no way to adjust the intensity of the water, it was either “cold and weak” or “cold and strong” or “warm and strong”. So if I wanted to have a weaker warm shower to keep my feet above the water level of the shower floor, it would be impossible (and impossible it was!)
