The Spotlight on The Queens Hotel

Affordable, No-Fuss Comfort Close to the Action

Modern and budget-friendly, The Queens Hotel sits in the Woodside neighborhood of Queens—just a short ride from major concert venues like Citi Field and Arthur Ashe Stadium. With easy access to public transport and LaGuardia Airport only 3.7 miles away, this no-frills stay is perfect for music fans who want convenience without breaking the bank. Rooms are clean and simple, featuring flat-screen TVs, private bathrooms, and free WiFi. Some even come with a kitchen for longer stays.

Why Concert-goers love it

The location is key—Citi Field and Arthur Ashe Stadium are just a few miles away, making it easy to catch a show and get back fast. While not in the heart of the nightlife, the hotel’s proximity to subway lines means late-night transportation back from a concert is a breeze. The 24-hour front desk is a bonus for late check-ins after an encore or encore drink. Plus, the area is quieter than Manhattan, giving fans a chance to unwind after the noise and energy of a show.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking for a budget base in the city
Solo travelers chasing a dream performance
Couples on a fun weekend concert getaway
Fans seeking a peaceful post-concert rest
Budget-conscious music lovers who want to save for merch and drinks

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t have an on-site restaurant or bar, you’re in easy reach of local eateries along Queens Boulevard. Grab a slice or a late-night bite at nearby diners, or stock your room's kitchen (if available) for snacks after the show. Breakfast options are available nearby for those slow, post-concert mornings.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find an on-site lounge here, but Woodside has its own charm with local Irish pubs and casual bars just a walk or short cab ride away. Prefer more action? Hop on the subway to Manhattan for clubs, rooftop bars, and music lounges.

What People Say

Reviews praise the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendly and responsive staff, and the value for money. Many guests point out how convenient the location is for LaGuardia Airport and public transport links. It's a solid pick for travelers who want to keep things simple and affordable.

Areas for Improvement

There's no on-site dining or bar, so you’ll need to head out for meals and nightlife. Some rooms are a bit basic in décor, and you may hear occasional street noise—earplugs might be handy for light sleepers.

The Bottom Line

An easy, budget-friendly choice for concert-goers who want clean comfort, great transport links, and a quiet place to crash after the show.

Pleasant

Liked: The decor and furniture look like the picture.
Disliked: However, once in the room, you see how scuffed, old, and used everything is. There was a broken bathroom piece just sitting on the sink, fingertips/ dirty marks on the wall, and oh yeah, the dead desiccated cockroach body just hanging on the wall.

I guess value for your...

Liked: I appreciated that the desk attendants were responsive and helpful when I had an issue with my room, a King room with kitchen #605. Although the housing and maintenance staff didn't seem to speak much English, when they received their instructions from the reception staff, maybe in Mandarin or Cantonese, they knew what to do and responded well. I appreciated that.
Disliked: The hotel is not a fancy one, which is not in itself a problem for me but it does need some TLC (attention). A coat of paint here and there would help. Fixing a broken room door security latch. The towels were real cheap quality even for someone who may not pay attention to these things. Rough and worn out. They can do a good job at exfoliating you. I was okay because I don't tender tap dry myself but... just putting it out there. Rough is rough! King room #605 came with a kitchenette, which was nice but they forgot that in general, kitchens should have some utensils, glasses and maybe a pot or pan??!! When I brought this to the attention of the desk attendant, he promptly pointed me in the direction in the lobby where I could find "those utensils" in like a stand, bureau? And I did! A small plastic fork and spoon fit for a 6-year old. You know like, take out!? Location on 65th place in Queens Blvd, Queens not ideal, if you are not a New Yorker. I'm a former New Yorker. So, you need to figure out the bus routes and subway lines that will connect you to NYC or other Queens neighborhood.

Overpriced, Isolated, and Unpleasant

Disliked: I would not recommend this hotel. The location is extremely remote and poorly connected, far from any decent restaurants or services. Breakfast consisted only of basic American coffee — nothing else was provided. The cleanliness and hygiene standards were disappointing, with poor housekeeping throughout my stay. The staff was virtually absent, offering no real assistance or hospitality. Overall, a frustrating and unpleasant experience — and far too expensive for what it offers.
