The Queens Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Queens Hotel. The room we had looked out over the river - it was spotless and the room was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, which meant a good night's sleep was had. The breakfast the next day was delicious and well worth the additional cost. The staff in the hotel were all very friendly and keen to help. Only problem was the cost of the NCP Parking which cost us £18. We had booked hotel parking but due to flooding this option wasn't available. No criticism at all with the hotel.

Disliked: Not cheap but we were there on races day.

Disliked: Room on 3rd floor was awful, Hubby is disabled, no air conditioning, room was stifling, we were cooked with the heat.could not sleep, thank goodness it was only 2 nights, we mentioned this on check out.

Liked: Great location and easy to get to from the station.The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great.All the staff were also very friendly.
Disliked: I was originally booked in a previously-smoking room and even though it had been completely refurbished and had become a non-smoking room over 6 months ago, I could still smell the smell of tobacco as I am quite sensitive to it.However, I went down and mentioned it to reception and the manager and receptionist were very understanding about it and offered me a new room straight away and it was great, so the service and attentiveness of the staff were really good.
