Tracy, Hull, visiting York Barbican Fri, 25 October 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at the Queens Hotel. The room we had looked out over the river - it was spotless and the room was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, which meant a good night's sleep was had. The breakfast the next day was delicious and well worth the additional cost. The staff in the hotel were all very friendly and keen to help. Only problem was the cost of the NCP Parking which cost us £18. We had booked hotel parking but due to flooding this option wasn't available. No criticism at all with the hotel.

Liked: Hotel stay.
Disliked: Car parking costs.

Very enjoyable stay in a...

Liked: Perfect location for a short break . I wouldn?t want to stay much more than 3 days as the room was on the small side and no air con making it uncomfortable at night . The Car parking is a huge bonus as it?s safe and secure although a little on the small side . Overall an enjoyable break in a lovely city .
Disliked: No air con that?s my only real gripe .

Passable

Liked: The location was excellent, I?m recovering from two operations to remove 3 brain tumours and I?m starting chemotherapy on Friday so we booked this as a last minute break. So close to the town centre and sitting in the bar on a night overlooking the river was lovely
Disliked: My husband and the couple we travelled with drink fosters lager unfortunately they ran out so they had to drink bottled, I understand that the hotel has only just reopened a few weeks ago but it was very busy therefore I think they should of been more orepared
