This 17th-century Elizabethan inn has a peaceful location in the Troutbeck Valley with weaving footpaths that link the nearby ancient hamlets. It offers à la carte cuisine and is 1.5 miles from the former home of Beatrix Potter. Rooms at The Queen's Head Hotel have traditional furnishings with a contemporary twist. Thoroughly enjoyable. Remote.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely homely place. Lovely food. Room was spotless and very cozy.
Disliked: The location is right on a rather busy road. Our room was right on the road so traffic noise was quite bad. It is quite remote which is probably ideal for most. We personally wished we had realised beforehand as we would have preferred a little more to do within a close walking distance. If you walk anywhere you are walking on a busy road.
