It's what £80 for 2...

Liked: The location was great, a stones from away from Roker beach, cafes, pubs, bars, and convenience stores.It was good value for money compared to a lot of other properties in the area.
Disliked: The cost explains a lot of this but it doesn't mean it was enjoyable.There was a number of cleaning issues and general disrepair in both the room and property.Basic standards were missing like no bedside tables and the bedside lamps not working. Plus to open the window (only way of cooling the room) required standing on the tall window sill.The walls were exceedingly thin and conversations could be heard easily from inside and outside of the room, and our location by a door meant slamming doors woke us throughout the night. Even the main road, with the window closed, sounded exceptionally close.All in all, consider why you are booking the hotel and what you want as it'll work as a place to rest your head but it might be disturbed sleep.

A good budget option well...

Liked: Bedding/towels were clean and neat and tidy. Parking seemed straightforward. View was very nice, over harbour and out to sea.
Disliked: Carpet etc a bit tired.

Okay for the price we...

Liked: Location was ideal, staff were friendly enough.
Disliked: Bed was very uncomfortable. Carpet was filthy / stained. Locked out on the first evening, the staff forgot to tell us the shutters come down at midnight. Woke up to a bug bed on the last morning, reported to staff on the way out and they didn't seemed surprised shall we say.

A good value for money...

Liked: The staff member at check in was very friendly and the ladies working the bar in the evening were delightful. Despite the obvious issues with building, the bed linen and towels were crisp and clean and room itself was clean.
Disliked: The building is old and tired and appears a little shabby.

Very basic, but cheap.

Liked: Location was good. Car parking was good. Staff were helpful.
Disliked: Room was dirty and not cleaned for all 3 days. Shower was weak and leaked all over the floor. Mattresses were lumpy and not comfy.

Unhappy little traveller.

Liked: Location. Near the sea with sea views and an easy stroll into town or to metro station.
Disliked: Rooms were never cleaned. Beds never made. Clean towels not supplied. Toilet role not replenished. Run your finger across the wall and it's covered with dust. Big bathroom but over-bath shower, heat needed to be operated throigh synchronising the two taps. They advertise fantastic seafood cuisine on FB but do not do seafood. Menu is basic pub grub and was not impressive. We had family staying in this hoyel grom Australia, Plymouth and we travelled from Spain. Sorry but very disappointed and won't be going back.
