Overall, I would stay there...

Liked: Overall, we really enjoyed this property. The furniture was comfy, the kitchen was very usable and the AC was nice and cold. We had a couple of issues but Carter and Jake handled everything as quickly as possible. On arrival, we found the ceiling to be leaking - not a few drops but a shower raining down on the dining table and hardwoods! One call downstairs and the guys came right up. We had to vacate for 2-3 hours while they fixed it (it was an AC issue) and cleaned everything up. That evening discovered the TV remote, which was on the dining table, was ruined. The next day staff brought new remotes. We had a number of towels, but only 2 wash cloths (there were 3 of us). One call and they found another for us.Attentive staff willing to quickly and efficiently fix issues goes a LONG way with me.
Disliked: The beautiful, windows are true to the classic look of the building, but are single pane. The street below can be loud at times. I knew this from other reviews and booked it anyway, so I am not upset. The louvered shutters on the windows are also beautiful and complete the "look" of the windows. However, they let in a lot of light and there is a street light just outside the bedroom window. Maybe consider blackout curtains or something to dampen the sound and light. The first morning, there were guys in the alley before 8:00am cutting and sanding boards (never sure why) - super loud with the windows like they are. No sleeping in for us after such a crazy arrival day. LolWe did have to be careful when barefoot inside. The water leak caused the hardwoods to warp slightly which made splinters. They scraped the bottoms of out feet and snagged socks. The listing says that there are amenities like soap, shampoo, and conditioner. What was there was one tiny bar of soap, 1 hotel sized shampoo and conditioner. This is not enough for 3 people for 3 days. Not a huge deal. We picked some up at the Piggly Wiggly while getting groceries, but still.

We would not stay here...

Liked: The rooms were clean and a good size.
Disliked: The water pressure was horrible. The parking was terrible, difficult to manage, tiny space. Also, everyday there was someone outside on the bench or on the corner asking for spare change, etc. The day we were checking out someone was sitting there waiting for us to leave, assume it was cleaning person, but didn’t appreciate the pressure to get out.

Comfortable and clean, perfect for...

Liked: Property was a short walk to most places we went. It was clean and a perfect space for us.
Disliked: Not being able to control our own AC because the thermostat is in the downstairs unit. Room needs a router extender. The WiFi did not work past the steps.

Would possibly stay again, with...

Liked: Loved that we were able to book for one night when my cousins found it, as they had been staying upstairs since Friday afternoon. We had stayed outside of downtown Friday and Saturday with family all flying or driving down for cousins wedding on Saturday... We were pleasantly surprised to see such an inviting living room (which was great for the four of us after dinner last night at Husk to come home and relax watching the Mets game!) our cousins only had to walk upstairs to leave when it was over! The most exciting part for me was the shower, just gorgeous, refreshing and relaxing! Having a washer and dryer was a lovely addition to be able to wash clothes from our three days of vacation and pack up clean to head home Monday morning!). It was very nice to be able to sit at a roomy dining table and read our morning devotional and scripture. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows (once we grabbed a fifth one from the other bedroom) and everything was very tidy when we arrived!
Disliked: We would have liked to been able to check in earlier than 4pm as we had originally requested but were told it would not be ready. So when we had to check out of our prior stay by 11 we came there to drop off two suitcases to our cousins on the third floor. My poor boyfriend is 6'5'' and caught his head pretty hard on the turn to the final third flight of stairs with suitcases in tow. However when we returned back from the family brunch down the street at mt aunt and uncles rental we arrived at 3:40 to the door open to our unit which I found odd. By 4:30 with the heavy downpour there was water all over the kitchen floor coming from the wall beneath the window and I quickly toweled it up as to not ruin the floor. I immediately sent a message here but did not recieve a response. Sleeping was near impossible. From the bright street lights, to the yelling, screaming, car horns blaring and even the two rounds of gunshots it was quite unsettling (especially given we needed to be up and out by 8am to head to the airport). Not sure what the bright colored flashing light display was on the electronic piece on the table directly across from the bed but that didn't help either and not knowing what it was did not want to unplug it. The stains on the beautiful sofa were a bit disheartening as well as when I took the pillow cases off this morning the stains on the pillows as well as the urine stained waterproof mattress cover. I immediately put the sheets in the wash as to be helpful for the next guests arriving. The shower towels were cute for decoration or hair towels but not very practical for adults and quite small. We had thankfully used the beach towels provided at our rental the days prior at that ground level unit. There was only one almost empty roll of toilet paper and one spare which I replaced and thankfully we were only staying less than 24 hours. We never even used the other bedroom but there was only two of us.

An excellent base to come...

Liked: A really comfortable and well equipped apartment. All the rooms were furnished to a high standard. Aircon worked well. The allocated parking space was invaluable. Security was reassuring. Some small local shops and restaurants proved very useful.
Disliked: Not really in walking distance to the centre of Charleston. A bus stop is 10 mins walk. We drove in and parked at the Visitor Centre car park.
