Hotel Description
The Priory is nestled within the historic town of Caerleon on the River Usk. Dating back to 1180 this hotel was originally a Cistercian monastery. It has a fantastic à la carte restaurant and is located in secluded grounds in the historic town of Caerleon on the River Usk. Many of the traditional rooms at The Priory Hotel retain original period features and all come with a flat-screen multi-channel TV. Rooms all have picturesque views their own bathroom and a work desk. Each morning breakfast is provided in the Oak Panel Room with its antique stained glass and wooden panels that date back to 1622. The restaurant offers a wide-ranging menu for evening meals and outdoor seating is available in the pretty gardens. The center of Newport is just a 10-minute drive from The Priory. Cardiff and Bristol can both be reached in around 30 minutes by car.

Lovely snd

Liked: Beautiful deco, friendly staff . Quiet and peaceful.
Disliked: Unfortunately bed very hard and uncomfortable had a poor sleep because of it ( room 10) but didn’t spoil our experience

Liked: Very spacious rooms, good facilities and a lovely bar and restaurant.
Disliked: One room was above the cellar cooling fans.

Disliked: More vegan food on the menu would have tempted us to eat at the hotel in the evening

I never needed that facility...

Liked: The location was perfect as we were attending a funeral at the church
Disliked: There were no comfortable chairs in the room or in the restaurant. I needed chairs with arms to enable me to get up
