Exceptional staff lovely location and...

Liked: The location was perfect overlooking the Solway and nice and peaceful. The room was excellent with a side view which let us look at the water and also the golf course. The room was spotless and well appointed. The restaurant was lovely with large windows overlooking the sea. I can only say exceptional to describe the staff from the moment I arrived till We left . The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. The food in the restaurant is like Scottish tapas. small plates so you get to sample several different dishes. This makes it easier to choose when you cant decide on what to have. Simply try three or four.
Disliked: Plain and simple nothing everything was first class

Great location great Hotel

Liked: The location is amazing right on the shore overlooking the Solway. We had played golf at Powfoot and stayed overnight, the staff were great and the food was spot on after a long day on the golf course.
Disliked: Nothing

Very good stay

Liked: We had a lovely clean and comfortable room with a lovely view over the estuary and golf course. The restaurant food was excellent.
Disliked: They stopped serving breakfast at 9am on a sundayRooms have a coffee machine which is difficult to use if you are a tea drinker. There are apparently small kettles available if you require them.

Decent hotel but sadly not...

Liked: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was great too. I also liked the lounge area.
Disliked: Unfortunately it wasn?t good value for money at all. For 130 per night in a remote location we were expecting much more. The WiFi didn?t work in our room, the bed wasn?t very comfortable, the room was quite small, we had no fridge or kettle in the room and the shower head was leaking.

Brilliant stop off on the...

Liked: Loved our overnight stay here en route to the Highlands. A traditional style small hotel. Our room with balcony had amazing views over the neighbouring golf course and the Solway Firth. The staff were extra friendly and helpful. The restaurant was superb - our style of food! A good selection of dishes on the evening menu and everything we chose was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also amazing. We would definitely stay again!
Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Lovely staff

Liked: Lovely staff, quiet night spent in a courtyard room. Taster menu delicious but expensive for very small portions.
Disliked: Lighting poor for reading in the room. Another chair rather than chest of drawers would have been useful.
