A very homely establishment, lots...

Liked: The breakfast choices were exceptional for a B&B. Along with standard options, smoked salmon or Haddock with scrambled eggs are offered and freshly made croissants. I had the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and can only say that these were prepared and presented to a standard more common to a restaurant. Wifi was very efficient, hospitality tray was well stocked with good quality choices. It was quiet.
Disliked: Not so much "not like" but things that might not make it suitable for everyone. Rooms were all upstairs, so not suitable for people with significant mobility issues. The bathroom was clean, everything worked and the toiletry selection was good and to a high quality. Towels were clean and very soft, but the bathroom and shower is small. If you are a person that needs a big bathroom experience, bear this in mind.

Very good

Liked: Breakfast was great. Great variety cooked, continental or both. Mango in the fruit salad was a pleasant surprise
Disliked: Workmen making noise at 7am was disappointing.Also there was a strange low pitched noise outside my bedroom window during the night.

Excellent.

Liked: If you haven't been there before, it is a little tricky to find without satnav! But worth it as it is the best B&B that I have ever occupied. I have had worse breakfasts in a four star hotel and it was cooked to perfection. Later: they returned by post an item that I had left behind, which I take to be another big "tick" in the box and most would not have done in my experience.
Disliked: Nothing; they know what they are doing.

Exceptional

Liked: Susan is a lovely host, and her breakfasts are freshly cooked and very tasty. Bed linen is exceptionally clean and fresh, and matress and pillows are very comfortable. There is a car park, and the location is great for the Central Bar and Grill music venue.

Service and a stay with...

Liked: Susan can’t do enough for you. It’s not the first time we’ve stayed here whilst visiting friends in Ibstock and it’s always a lovely stay. Breakfast is great and always service with a smile.
Disliked: Only thing I personally didn’t like was the pillows were too soft, but that is been incredibly picky.

Disliked: The noisy neighbour.
