Convenient for a ferry stop

Liked: Stayed here, before an early morning ferry. Room was big and clean.
Disliked: The locals in the bar were interesting, but was what we expected to be honest.

Simple place for a modest...

Liked: I liked the location. The price, and found the place cozy and comfortable. The addition of a fan during the heatwave was most welcome.
Disliked: Hot and cold labels are reversed on shower, little bit confusing, and pulls out a bit too when using.

not bad experience

Liked: good experience, the room was nice and clean enough with clean linen. The location was good, very central. There is not a reception, you will need to check-in/check-out at the pub downstairs. Please note there is no lift so you will need to lift your luggage through staircase (luckily this time I had very light bags so it wasn't a problem at all)The room had a nice view with the buildings on the other side of the street and a bit of sea view too.
Disliked: The matress wasn't very comfortable, with some places sagging and some bumpy areas. The shower head was mounted in a very strange way, the water jet was going not straight down, but perpendicular, nearly orizontal, there was no way to change direction so the water was reaching straight for my face, not the rest of the body. The room we stayed in was under the roof, so it was super hot and there was not a fan or anything to try and cool us down. We stayed only for one night so we didn't say anything about it, but maybe for future guests it would be good to have a fan or similar in the room for the hot summer days.I don't think the bathroom floor had been cleaned because I found 7 different hairs on the floor from the previous occupant.

Worth it on a budget...

Liked: As others have said, staff were fantastic, really helpful, very pleasant and willing to share local knowledge and make you feel welcome. Housekeeping checked in every day to see if there was anything that needed topping up. Really nice unexpected touch was little bottles of shampoo/shower gel etc (this is pitted as a 'bargain' type hotel so you wouldnt normally get little things like that). Also provided bottles of water, not just the standard tea/coffee which was great, and biscoff biscuits. Towels were really big, which were perfect as well as hangers in the room with enough hanging space for a short stay. The plug sockets either side of the bed were great and as a bonus each had USB sockets included. The location of the hotel is also absolutely spot onThe Skuba bar is attached to the hotel and as others have also commented, once you close the door to your room, you cant hear anything so isnt an issue
Disliked: Remember this is a budget hotel so dont complain if you dont find certain 5 star elements - the hotel is more than great for the price you pay though. Yes it is a little worn and yes could do with redecorating in certain areas but as long as you dont have unrealistic expectations, it should more than meet your needs for a great stay. The only key downside with the room I had was no net curtains (and it wasnt a biggie) - it meant the room was completely overlooked by the hotel across the road. You can just close the curtains each time but is a bit of a faff during the daytime having to do it every time you want to get changed, come out of the shower etc but definitely not the end of the world
