Great place to stay!
Liked: This is the best place to stay overnight if you have events in the Chicago area! Our 2nd time staying here and it doesn't disappoint! You will get alot more room space (more like an apartment) for the same or less than you'd pay for a hotel room. Owner and staff are great! If they are available they will drop you off at your event and the return is easy through uber or the red line. Great restaurant underneath apartment s-very convenient for lunch/dinner-food is top notch! Weekend stays include a free breakfast that is sooo good and made to order. Gospel brunch on Sunday mornings is so cute, easily was $100 value but free for our family of 4 since we stayed overnight there! Will definitely be back!
Disliked: Really everything was great. If you are looking for a fancy/modern stay this place is probably not for you. It's a quirky, fun eclectic place with a building over 100 years old-so lots of history. Older furnishings but very clean-matttress was very comfortable!

Good
Liked: Brunch on Sunday was included in the cost of the room which was a nice touch. Building is old, however, it met our needs for a single night stay.
Disliked: Check-in was a bit bumpy.

Good choice for a younger,...
Liked: The property was in an interesting, transitional neighborhood with architectural variety. The B & B host, Kevin, noticed we were struggling with our luggage and carried it up and down stairs and to our car! He was sociable and knowledgeable about the area. We had a parking spot reserved for us and Mark from The Polo Inn advised us to keep the spot and Uber to and from our nearby wedding event. The brunch was served in the adjoining Eagles Theater space, not The Polo Inn restaurant, at 10 am and was excellent.
Disliked: The older property needs a refresh. Doors had so many layers of paint that they were difficult to close. The bathroom had a claw foot tub that was difficult to access. The sound insulation was poor and the 2nd bedroom/living room adjoined the back stairs to the restaurant kitchen. Unlike a hotel, the coffee and breakfast was not accessible for early travelers. The B & B host made coffee for me, but this was a special favor, not a part of the Bed & Breakfast agreement.

A welcoming b&b in old...
Liked: The restaurant and rooms felt historic in a good way with a lot of political memorabilia on the walls. The staff's hospitality and eagerness to accommodate whatever you needed was exceptional. They made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was outstanding! The neighborhood was safe and walkable, filled with beautiful brownstone shops and homes.
Disliked: You had to climb narrow steep stairs to your room. And the TV didn't work.

Liked: Property is an old building full of charm located in a historic district. Bed and breakfast, room size, on site dining and parking made it a perfect choice for the occasion. Good customer service.
Disliked: It’s a walk up. Carrying suitcases up to your room can be challenging or a good work out, depending on each situation.
