Great historical hotel

Liked: I love that it was historical antique looking building, lobby, and rooms. The food at the cafe was delicious and the drinks were too. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The heat was a radiator and it was super hot in the room. Later figured out goes to turn the heat down.

Adorable suite

Liked: I stayed in a premium queen suite with a small kitchen. Everything about the suite was well-designed, well-maintained, and comfortable. I would definitely return. I really liked the way the space was set up and decorated, but that might just be a reflection my personal preference for a kind of calm neutral modern interior. In any case, it was clear someone gave some real thought and attention to the suite. If that kind of thing gives you pleasure in itself, you?d enjoy this space.
Disliked: No elevators. The website mentioned this fact and that staff would be glad to help. Even though I was clearly struggling, there was no offer to help. In fact, the staff was a bit scarce in general, but to be fair, I have encountered this in many places I?ve stayed during COVID.

Nice place to stay when...

Liked: The hotel is very vintage and full of original charm. Room was cozy. On site cafe was great even though very busy.
Disliked: Did not love the pillows as they were very firm. But it was not a deal breaker. Also our room was as the end of the hall near the back door which allows access to the garage and laundry facilities utilized by apartment tenants of the hotel - was loud from time fo time.

Had to be at UW-Milwaukee...

Liked: Lovely old former residence hotel recently renovated into "spa hotel." I did not use spa facilities, so no info there. Room had refrigerator & microwave, but also small 4-burner gas stove & oven, full kitchen cupboards! 2 minute walk to Juneau Park, beautiful bluff that looks out to Lake Michigan, 5 minute walk to Milwaukee Art Museum, 6-7min to Performing Arts Center. 6 minute drive to UW-Milwaukee. Lots of restaurants, casual to fine dining, in walking distance. $15/night parking in 2 convenient hotel lots.
Disliked: Plumbing was tight. Old hotel, took some strength to get bathroom sink & tub faucets going, then took strength to turn off so not dripping. Shower & hot water great. NOTE: NO ELEVATORS! Not a problem for me, but this is a charming building with beautiful iron stair railings, light sconces, original tile floors & an old-style counter cafe. Building has 3 or 4 stories and no elevators. Make special request for 1st floor if this is a problem for you.
