Nice place to stay when...
Liked: The hotel is very vintage and full of original charm. Room was cozy. On site cafe was great even though very busy.
Disliked: Did not love the pillows as they were very firm. But it was not a deal breaker. Also our room was as the end of the hall near the back door which allows access to the garage and laundry facilities utilized by apartment tenants of the hotel - was loud from time fo time.

Liked: The staff was super friendly and helpful
Disliked: The heater kept making very loud noise all the time and the room was very cold. The heating equipment was outdated

Had to be at UW-Milwaukee...
Liked: Lovely old former residence hotel recently renovated into "spa hotel." I did not use spa facilities, so no info there. Room had refrigerator & microwave, but also small 4-burner gas stove & oven, full kitchen cupboards! 2 minute walk to Juneau Park, beautiful bluff that looks out to Lake Michigan, 5 minute walk to Milwaukee Art Museum, 6-7min to Performing Arts Center. 6 minute drive to UW-Milwaukee. Lots of restaurants, casual to fine dining, in walking distance. $15/night parking in 2 convenient hotel lots.
Disliked: Plumbing was tight. Old hotel, took some strength to get bathroom sink & tub faucets going, then took strength to turn off so not dripping. Shower & hot water great. NOTE: NO ELEVATORS! Not a problem for me, but this is a charming building with beautiful iron stair railings, light sconces, original tile floors & an old-style counter cafe. Building has 3 or 4 stories and no elevators. Make special request for 1st floor if this is a problem for you.

Welcoming stay in an updated...
Liked: The beds were very comfy, and the kitchenette had Tupperware, utensils, glasses, and the freezer even had ice cube trays (complete with icecubes!). There were little soaps and shampoos, as well as facial cleansers make up wipes, and lotion. The coffee pods and water bottles in the fridge just topped of this room. The cafe downstairs has EXCELLENT food. Truly stellar pancakes.
Disliked: The walls are a little thin, but that wasn't an issue unless people outside were literally yelling (which they happened to be).

Liked: This was such a great place for a romantic getaway in a great part of Milwaukee. The hotel is like waking up in the great gatsby or new orleans in 1940. Quaint with modern touches. Real keys, radiator heat, great staff, comfy beds. And the cafe had the best breakfast ever!
Disliked: Need shelves in the bathroom.
