Liked: For an old building it was in good shape, and very clean.
Disliked: No, not at all. Thought the music in the bar was loud but I had asked for a quiet room and they gave me one.

Very good
Liked: Breakfast was good. Rooms are comfy and I love the vintage vibe of the building
Disliked: Overflow parking is a little bit far. Not enough parking spots, and they do charge per car x night

Meh
Liked: It was a good location
Disliked: They took $211 from my debit card and my sister had to pay ANOTHER $211 because they said the charge from my card was just an “authorization”

Ok but moved on a...
Liked: The room was clean and beds were comfortable.
Disliked: I didn’t like the breakfast, it was barely warm and not much selection, this area was grubby too as it is also the bar area. Our room was by some large kitchen fans so we had to keep the windows closed to avoid noise & food odours. I also found the billing system over complicated & confusing.

Not nearly as nice as...
Liked: It had a decent location inside downtown Kamloops
Disliked: Oh my god, where to begin. From the fact that there is no secured parking, and you have to purchase your parking spot! That's right, either pay for parking on the street or pay for parking supplied by the TINY lot next to the business. Then there is the environment--We were told not to leave anything of value in our cars. That's encouraging. And for the price, we got a tiny room where they had to remove the closet doors to fit the desk and fridge. The bathroom had no fan. My wife, for the first time, insisted that we take the stairs every time due to how tiny and potentially unsafe the elevator was. Make sure they are aware of any mobility issues you may have as there were additional stairs we had to take to reach our room. This hotel must be a hundred years old, and it BADLY needs an update. I would be okay if this were a dive or a cheap hotel, but they present this as some prestigious hotel in downtown Kamloops, and it absolutely is NOT! Pay the extra 20 bucks and upgrade to a newer hotel is my recommendation.

A good hotel but needs...
Liked: This is one of the oldest buildings in Kamloops and has a very old, small, quaint lift! Our room was very comfortable and the facilities were good; Tea/coffee, hairdryer etc. There is car parking but we had to pay extra for this. We didn't use the restaurant for dinner but had breakfast there. Breakfast was okay but not great. The hotel itself looked a bit tired and in need of updating.
Disliked: No major complaints but would have liked a bit more choice for breakfast.

Limitations of dated hotel facilities...
Liked: There was a lock on the door and we didn't have to share a bathroom.
Disliked: Paying for parking was not disclosed during booking. Woke up with legs hanging over the edge of the small bed. Went downstairs and found staff trying to pass off weiners for sausages at breakfast. Breakfast area was dark as a dungeon and the ambient music was too loud for comfort.

Would love to love it,...
Liked: I enjoyed that the Wyndham group took on this old hotel. Love the vintage vibe in the lobby. Cool elevater. One of the Kamloops originals. The bed was surprisingly comfortable.Nice linen. Room was clean.(but dated, not vintage) A hot breakfast. The price point for a quick stop for the night. The pub downstairs was fun. The location was great for the event. Super close. Great for people watching.
Disliked: The following :the paid parking 2 blocks away, :(. Took my chances with street.( just be smart- don’t advertise valuables, no problems)The upper floor hallways smelled like urine? I was on the third floor. Where 323 was located there were burnt out lights or very poorly lit hallways. Which made it a bit creepy at night. PS-if you have mobility issues make sure you tell them, there are multiple stairs). The room was a “upgrade” to a king suit-room was nothing like the pictures. Walls could use a coat of paint, again lighting was dim, bathtub delaminated, subpar air conditioning. Windows opened but I was looking at the other side of the hotel and all the ventilation and generators(super loud)The breakfast although hot( no yogurt/fruit/cereal) wieners are NOT breakfast sausages -that was bizarre. Was hoping more from the hotel chain:((
