Pleasant

Disliked: Was advised we could sit outside for drinks until 10 o'clock. We arrived back to the hotel at 7.45 after our dinner to be told they are closing since no one was outside. Spent the rest of the night in our room

Small hotel in ideal location...

Liked: Exceptional food, breakfast was lovely on both days we stayed and we had lunch one day and all four of us were very impressed. Obviously got a very good chef. Location was excellent and within minutes we were in the heart of the city.
Disliked: Nothing we didn't like about the Piper as under the current covid restrictions in Glasgow we probably didn't see the Piper at it's best. However, the decor and furniture could do with some updating which I understand has already been identified and is being actioned.

Comfy, cosy but noisy.

Liked: Stuart the night receptionist was so lovely and so fantastic - even when I checked in super late. Very accommodating and super cheerful. Breakfast was nice and the bed was super comfy. Showers were excellent.
Disliked: Sadly the reception isn't open 24 hours so when the student accommodation got very rowdy next to my window I couldn't ask for earplugs. Their was also quite a loud banging sound that would switch on and sound like something crashing every minute or so. I went to investigate and found it was emanating from a cupboard below my bedroom which turned out to be some kind of system turning on and off. It reverberated right below my head when I tried to sleep. I explained this to the breakfast manager in the morning who stated it was the students next door - it was the door banging as they left and came back.I explained it definitely wasn't a door banging and it was coming from the room below my room (Room 1). The manager looked oblivious and said she would have a look but I've realised there are previous reviews about this on here too. I do feel bad for folk who have to work in a hotel knowing they'll get complaints about that noise fairly regularly but if they had just been honest I wouldn't have felt compelled to write this review. Sadly didn't really sleep at all - which is a shame as everything else was ok and this overshadowed the stay.
