With its European-style charm, exposed brick walls, and 18-foot ceilings, The Pelham Hotel delivers Old World elegance in a location that’s hard to beat. Just a short walk from iconic attractions like the French Quarter, Harrah’s Casino, and the Audubon Aquarium, this boutique hotel places you right in the action—without the chaos. Its intimate vibe and historic architecture make it a memorable base for music lovers exploring New Orleans.
This hotel is all about location. Within easy walking distance of the French Quarter and major venues, it’s perfect for catching late shows without worrying about rideshares. The quiet Tranquille interior rooms are ideal for post-concert wind-downs, even if you’re not calling it an early night. With free WiFi and a flexible 4 PM check-in, it’s set up well for travelers arriving on their own schedule.
On-site restaurant Ruby Slipper Café is a local favorite for hearty breakfasts and brunches—perfect for late risers after a night out. While the hotel doesn’t offer room service or late-night dining, you’re just steps from the French Quarter’s 24/7 food scene, with countless eateries and bars within walking distance.
Though The Pelham doesn’t have its own bar, you’re never far from the action. You’ll find live jazz clubs, cocktail lounges, and rooftop bars all around the French Quarter. Whether you’re into dive bars or upscale speakeasies, it’s all just a few blocks away.
Guests rave about the hotel’s charming decor, historic ambiance, and unbeatable location. Many note how easy it is to walk to major attractions and venues. The friendly staff and comfortable beds also get frequent shout-outs in reviews.
If natural light is important to you, skip the interior “Tranquille” rooms—they come without windows, which some guests find disorienting. Also, there's no gym or business center, but most concert-goers won’t miss them.
The Pelham Hotel is a stylish, centrally located gem that offers a quiet retreat just steps from New Orleans’ legendary music scene.

Charming hotel in excellent location.
Liked: Excellent location. Close to French Quarter, Riverfront, Aquarium, Ferry, streetcar lines, excellent restaurants, shopping, etc., yet Very Quiet inside and on a quiet street. The decor was very nice. A modern flair in a historic building, some quirky art pieces, beautiful wallpaper along with painted (original) brick. The bathroom was well outfitted, towels thick and thirsty. Second and third floors boast 12 foot ceilings, soaring windows, nice curtains. Good lighting except in the entrance/hallway. Suite 306 on the corner had an especially long entrance but the room with 3 windows overlooking the front of the building was great. The Ruby Slipper restaurant in the same building is open daily til 2:00 pm. My one breakfast there was amazing!
Disliked: The bed was rather worn with a depression in one side. Perhaps flipping the mattress would help that. Seemed like it needed a thorough vacuum, though other surfaces and bathroom were very clean. Water was hot 2 days out of four, perhaps due to high use times?

Superb
Liked: Loved the room decor with the tall windows. Very easy to get around and feels very secure.
Disliked: The shower took some time to warm up and the head needed changing as there was alot of limescale which affected the flow of water

Very convenient for Hilton events.
Liked: Loved the jazz lounge bar. Not noisy. Cool and relaxed ambience. The coffee in the lounge bar was fantastic! Better than expected. Room provided with good facilities.
Disliked: No windows. When I looked on-line there was an additional cost for windows. In England they call this daylight robbery. Took me several days to work out the room coffee machine.

Bad
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Hotel was terrible nothing like the photos on the web site. Rooms were to small and old looking and no windows. I will never stay there again nor would I suggest this hotel to anyone. They did have valet but don't tell you it costs 52 dlls until you get there. They say it's private parking when in reality it's public. Need to shut the hotel down it's worthless.

We loved the Pelham.The staff...
Liked: The location was great. We had a short walk to all the best attractions. It’s located on a side street so there was minimal walking traffic by the front door.
Disliked: Getting off the sidewalk with a mobility scooter was difficult but not impossible.
