Enjoyable and everything we needed...

Liked: I loved the grand Victorian hotel but as mentioned in other reviews it could be updated a little. I stayed with my 7 year old and we had a great sleep. The bed was very comfortable and room was nice and warm and very quiet at night. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was nice and there was a good variety. I would stay again if ever in Felixstowe again as it was a great location near the town and beach.

Disappointing, the hotel is not...

Liked: The newly opened Buttery. The restaurant staff. New beds.
Disliked: No response from the mostly unmanned Reception. Could never find anyone to talk to. Decor tired.The breakfast was disappointing. Dried up hot food. No croissants. Had to ask for things that were unavailable such as milk, coffee, orange juice, spoons

Liked: Breakfast needs to be better .lots of unhappy customers .not enough staff + continually running out of coffee +cups + bread etc .Get a trolley to fill up everything rather then going outback for a few things at a time

Liked: Breakfast is a buffet, but was absolutely fantastic. Stayed in the Charles Manning Suite which had perfect space for the family.
Disliked: The carpet in the Charles Manning Suite was a bit mucky. Could do with either a good clean or replacing. Very important as it is a family room and could have little ones crawling around

We enjoyed our stay, especially...

Liked: Plenty of space to sit and read or chat. Tea or coffee available to order. Side bar near the restaurant very nice now that has been opened. Breakfast good. Range of food available sufficient to have a very good breakfast
Disliked: Window in our bedroom needs repair. I wasn’t able to open , nearly lost it on to the flat roof below. Meals in the restaurant were limited, too many items were ‘off’. That needs to be better organised as it lets down the front staff who were doing there very best to satisfy customers..

Disappointing

Liked: Beautiful grand building. Ample parking.
Disliked: In need of refurbishment. Not enough staff. No separate restaurant for evening meals. Breakfast very poor. Dried out from being under heat lamps too long. Not that much choice.

Liked: the room we were allocated turned out to be a massive comfortable suite. Breakfast was plentiful, self service.location right opposite station and an easy walk to town centre and beach
