Nice enough hotel, needs some...
Liked: Good location
Disliked: We stayed in rm 211, very nice 4 poster bed, pity about the mattress, very uncomfortable. Room needs some TLC, wallpaper peeling off wall & ceiling, light nearest window did not work, light above bathroom mirror did not work. Jets in the jacuzzi bath looked like they could do with a good scrub.

Comfortable and welcoming stay and...
Liked: From arrival we were met with a friendly lady on reception, unfortunately I can't remember her name but she was very helpful, professional and made us feel welcome. The hotel in general was clean, tidy and had a homely feel. Myself and my partner had a great sleep, comfortable bed and a warm and clean room. We were just a few minutes walk away from everything that we needed. We didn't use the other facilities in the hotel but we definitely will if we return again in the future.

Good stay at historic Orkney...
Liked: Orkney hotel is well situated in the heart of Kirkwall, right next to St. Magnus Cathedral and near to the town centre. Staff was warm, friendly and hospitable and even though the check-in was late at midnite, night manager was on guard to provide the keys and helped with the parking of car. The hotel as well as the selected King Room provided the vintage look, along with the artistic poster bed and other furniture. Netflix on a big screens tv in the evenings was good to relax , added by the jacuzzi in the the bath - the icing on the cake ! Breakfast was good though options were limited. Even we were given the small packed breakfast a night before the next day early checkout, which was very thoughtful gesture from the staff. Large selection of whisky at the hotel's bar was attractive. Overall, though pricey esp. in off season but a good stay to spend short time in Kirkwall.
Disliked: High price in off season, limited breakfast food options and the bed was squeaky and needed some maintenance.
